Julie Lugo
Prior to her 8-year career with Sterling Search Inc., Julie E. Lugo, CFRE, Senior Director of Executive Search, has 12 years of experience as a senior fundraising professional with non-profit organizations representing healthcare, global conservation and science education. Her transition from frontline fundraising to non-profit recruitment enables her to uniquely meet the needs of the nonprofit community by using her industry knowledge to best serve clients. Julie partners with clients to manage all aspects of the search process for C-suite and senior level nonprofit management searches.
Julie has served on the AFP National Philanthropy Day Committee in Orange County and San Diego and has volunteered with various nonprofit organizations over the last decade. The depth and breadth of her experience has given her a robust and comprehensive knowledge of various types of nonprofit roles and the skills needed for success in each unique environment. Her continuing professional development includes Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) accreditation and her Professional Certificate in Fundraising from the University of California San Diego.
Although Julie originally hails from the UK, she has lived in southern California for the last 20 years and currently resides in San Diego with her family.
