Prior to joining Campbell & Company, Dan served as Principal and Owner of his own recruiting firm, which focused on placing for-profit and nonprofit leaders. For five years, he served at a national executive search and consulting firm based in Chicago. As Research Head and later an Executive Recruiter, his work concentrated on leadership in the public, private and nonprofit sectors. He has led and supported recruiting efforts for more than eighty searches, principally in the nonprofit sector.
Before joining executive search, Dan worked as a PhD-level researcher, instructor and museum curator at the internationally recognized Oriental Institute Museum. He has given lectures at major research conferences and published several articles on socio-economic and organizational history. As a search leader, he is a frequent speaker on nonprofit leadership, career management and building diverse leadership teams.
Dan holds a Master of Arts from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oklahoma, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
