Susan Zak
In her position as Director of Executive Recruiting since 2004, Susan Paley Zak leverages her wide network of contacts in the business, professional and nonprofit communities to help clients find the right talent for their organizations. Over a long and successful career in executive recruiting, Susan’s signature accomplishment has been to bring an entrepreneurial zeal to whatever she touches.
She founded and for many years subsequently ran Corporate Connection, a professional talent placement service offered by Jewish Vocational Service. It quickly became an unusual entity, an entrepreneurial fee-based venture housed in a nonprofit agency, for which it generated crucial unrestricted funds for the parent organization. Leading and building the program also put her in regular contact with a broad cross section of influential leaders in the region’s business and nonprofit sectors. Susan later served as Senior Consultant and Executive Recruiter for a regional financial services company and as the Director of Development for a $13-million nonprofit organization.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Ms. Zak is also a certified personnel consultant (CPC). She serves on the board of the Contemporary Art Society of The Cleveland Museum of Art and formerly on ideastream’s Community Advisory Board. She feels especially fortunate to have developed a rich network of professional contacts through her participation in a number of arts organizations and two stimulating book clubs.
