Bill Moran

Bill Moran founded The Moran Company in 1996. He specializes in finding top talent for fundraising, executive director and other senior nonprofit positions.

Bill spent 10 years as a hospital fundraiser in Kansas City. He then spent 12 years as a fundraising consultant working with over 100 nonprofits. In his consulting role, he has worked both regionally and nationally with hundreds of nonprofit professionals in a wide variety of organizations. His contacts and nationwide network enable him to do customized searches for his clients.

Bill was Director of Development for the Johnson County Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Kansas City, Kansas. He then joined Saint Luke's Hospital Foundation in Kansas City where he was Director of Planned Giving for 10 years.

Bill has written numerous fundraising articles for publications including Fundraising Management, Funding Connection, and the Healthcare Philanthropy Journal. He makes presentations around the United States on fundraising and career related topics. In 1997, Bill was named "Trainer of the Year" by the Center for Management Assistance.

He has served on a number of nonprofit boards, including Turner House Children’s Clinic, St Stephens Hospital USA, Mid-America Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Mid-America Planned Giving Council. He is a Toastmaster and Rotarian.

Bill holds undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Missouri, where he was Phi Beta Kappa and a member of the Law Review. He also has a Master's degree in Education from the University of Kansas. He is a member of the Missouri Bar, Association of Fundraising Professionals, Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, Mid-America Planned Giving Council, Non Profit Connect, Society for Human Resource Management and the American Society for Healthcare Human Resource Administration.
