Richard King

Rick King has more than 35 years of nonprofit leadership experience as a chief executive officer and as a nonprofit executive search consultant. He joined Kittleman in 1985 and succeeded its founder, James M. Kittleman, as President & CEO in 1995.

Kittleman & Associates is the nation’s first executive search firm exclusively serving nonprofit organizations and institutions. Established in 1963, the firm operates from five regional offices around the country and serves the entire nonprofit sector including education, culture, human services, health care, grant making foundations, conservation, professional associations and civic organizations. Searches are typically conducted for chief executive officers and executive directors as well as for senior-level management positions in fund raising, institutional advancement, external relations, marketing, finance, operations and human resources.

Mr. King earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology/Sociology from Illinois Wesleyan University, a Master of Social Work degree from Florida State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Dominican University. He is the author of From Making a Profit to Making a Difference: How to Launch Your New Career in Nonprofits (2000).
