Tara George

As the managing partner and national lead for KCI's Search + Talent practice, Tara works with a wide variety of not-for-profit clients across Canada, including universities, hospital foundations, health charities, faith-based organizations, social service agencies, grant-making foundations, research institutions, environmental agencies, municipalities, museums and other cultural institutions. During her time at KCI, she has led or supervised more than 500 searches.

In addition to leading executive recruitment, Tara also works with clients on organizational development issues, compensation benchmarking, and recruitment, retention and succession strategies.

Tara joined KCI in 2007 following over a decade of front-line and leadership roles in educational advancement. She has previously had personal responsibility for fundraising, marketing communications, advancement services, and alumni, donor, and volunteer relations.

Tara is based in KCI's head office in Toronto, Ontario (Canada).

A committed volunteer and passionate advocate of the not-for-profit sector, Tara has served in a variety of volunteer leadership roles with sector professional organizations, including Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE), and the Canadian Association of Independent Schools' Advancement Professionals. Tara is a frequent speaker with all of these organizations, and also with Association of Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP).

Tara has also volunteered with local charities for many years, including serving on the Governance Committee of the MS Scientific Research Foundation, the Strategic Planning Committee for Providence Healthcare Foundation, the Family Selection Committee for Habitat Greater Toronto, and the Curriculum and Advisory Committees for Ryerson University's Fundraising Management program.

Tara holds a Masters of Business Administration (Marketing / Innovation), a Bachelor of Education (Science & Environmental Science), and a Bachelor of Science (Zoology). She has also completed training in Indigenous Cultural Awareness, Nonprofit Governance, and Emotional Intelligence.
